Where does the race take place?

The race starts on the track behind Lindsay Thurber High School and moves onto the McKenzie Trail System. The longer races come back and finish on the track. The 100 meter and 500 meter remain on the track.

Can men/boys enter all events?

No, sorry! Our survey responses remain overwhelming to keep it primarily an all-female event.  Men of all ages are welcome to join their moms or other special ladies in the Move Your Mood Family 3Km event.  There is also a special 100m race for the little boys (no registration required for that one).  And tons of activities to do and vendors to visit for boys of all ages while they wait for their ladies to cross the finish line.  Another option?  We’d love to have your men VOLUNTEER while you are racing!

How old do you have to be?

Girls can be any age for any category!  We recommend 1-3 years for 100 Meter, 4-5 years for 500 meter, 6-8 years for 1 km, and 9 and up for 3, 5 or 10Km distances. But these are only guidelines; parents should feel free to make that decision based on their child's abilities. 

Can we walk the course?

Yes! It is a participation event. Participants in the Women's 3km, 5km & 10km, and in the Family 3Km, will have chip timing but your finish time is NOT important unless you want it to be. Should you choose to go shorter distances than you registered for PLEASE let us know!

Where can we find our race finish times?

Visit our Results page for the link. We will be timing the 10km, 5km and 3km only. Times will also be posted on a big board near the finish line.  Be sure to check it before you leave; you may have won an age group award. 

Can we switch events?

YES!!  But please make sure you let us know first.  If you are registered for the 5 km and  decide to do 3 km, you will have a smoking fast time and edge out another lady for the age group awards...not fair!!  Email Suzanne at suzanne.womensfunrun@gmail.com with the details.  Let us know BEFORE May 1st to avoid a $5 charge.  Event switches can be made right up to package pickup on Friday night.

Will our little racers receive a race bib number?

Yes! Girls participating in the Little Ladies 500m race or the 100m Diaper Dash must pre‐register online, then are given a bib number and race shirt to wear. Little boys 100 meter racers will receive a finisher's prize, not a race bib (no registration required). 

Where do I pick up my race number, T-shirt and bag of goodies?

Race package pick up is at Red Deer Primary Care Network office (5130-47 Ave. east of the downtown McDonalds) on Friday, May 8 from 11am-7pm. YES a friend or family can pick up your bag and sign for it.

Can we register on the morning of the race?

Yes! Register online before Wednesday May 6th at midnight to avoid late charges. You can register in person at Red Deer Primary Care Network offices during package pick up on May 8th 11am-7pm. Registration will re-open on site, Saturday morning at the race start at Lindsay Thurber High School, 7am-8:30am.  Due to ordering deadlines, T-shirts ordered after April 25th will be given on a first come basis while supplies last.  (We order 200 extras but we cannot guarantee).You will receive a Fun Run drawstring bag if a shirt is not available.

How can I make a donation to The Mustard Seed School Lunch Program?

A portion of your entry fee goes to this deserving charity.  Personal donations can be made during online registration or in person at package pick up or at The Mustard Seed tent on race day.  If you wish to collect pledges, please download the pledge sheet or create an online fundraising page.  100% of personal and pledge donations go directly to The Mustard Seed.  See the "Our Charity" tab to learn more about this program and the AMAZING prizes available for fundraisers! Please Note:  Only donations received by 7pm on Friday May 10th will be eligible for fundraising prizes.

Can we push strollers?

Yes!  The course is primarily asphalt. We ask that strollers start near the back of the group at the start line.

Can we bring our dogs?

No, sorry there are too many runners...no dogs allowed anywhere on course or on the premises.

Will there be food after the race?

Yes!  Thanks to Sobeys/Safeway, all racers can enjoy free finisher's food with bagels, cream cheese, fruit, cookies, juice, water, etc.  Spectators and racers can purchase food from The Mustard Seed concession.

What can we expect in the finish area?

Tons of FUN!  Over 80 tents in the Weber Physio Health, Wellness & Gift Expo. Just in time to shop for Mom!  

Will the event be held rain or shine?

Yes, but we have ordered sunshine for the event! Unfortunately, entries are non-refundable, even if it is damp.

Where do I park?

There is lots of parking in the LTCHS and Camille parking lots.  Please don't park in the Memorial Center parking lot as they are hosting an event on race day.  

I want to run the 5Km/10Km. Can I make it back in time to watch my daughter's race?

Please check the estimated schedule on the Race Details-Race Day page to see when the various races are planned. 

What if I can't stay for the awards presentation?

No problem, check the finishers board and if you are a winner, the awards coordinator will present your prize right there on the spot. If we miss you, awards can be picked up following the race.  Location & times will be announced later.

What can I do with my purse/bag?

Stop off at the secure bag drop off, we will tag it and keep it safe while you race.

How can I showcase my business in the expo?

Sounds like there will be some amazing draw prizes. How do I enter?

When you pick up your race bag, you will receive 4 draw tickets.  You need to drop them into the bag for the item(s) you'd like to win BEFORE 11:00am on race day.  We suggest you do that on Friday night at Package Pickup when you'll have lots of time to check everything out!

I have already registered, but just found out that I'm not going to be able to race. I know there are no refunds - can a friend use my entry?

Yes!  It only costs $5 to transfer your entry to another person.  Keep in mind though, if you switch after April 25th, then we can't change the T-shirt size you selected.  Email Suzanne at suzanne.womensfunrun@gmail.com and she can take care of the transfer for you.
