Women's Aloha Fun Run
UPDATE May 5, 2021:
"Aloha (/əˈloʊhɑː/, Hawaiian: [əˈlohə]) is the Hawaiian word for love, affection, peace, compassion and mercy, that is commonly used as a simple greeting but also has a deeper cultural and spiritual significance, used to define a force that holds together existence."
In the spirit of the ALOHA that we feel for our participants, our volunteers, our sponsors, and our entire community, we feel that some changes are needed for the race in light of recent public health announcements. Therefore, we are transitioning the event to a new format!
Our original plan required setting up start locations, crews of volunteers, etc. It is clear that this is now neither possible or advisable. As a result, all participants will be encouraged to complete their walk/run at a time & place of their choosing. No check-in or schedule will be required, and participants are free to choose a time, date, route and weather forecast that works best for them :) Live ALOHA with your family while following all health guidelines.
All routes will be marked. Our volunteer crew have already been out marking turns and turnaround points for all of our routes using temporary enviro-friendly markings on the trails/grass. All of these trails are open to the public, and if you wish, you may choose to complete your walk/run on any of these routes at any time. You may also choose to create your own route instead. The route maps for our 10 start locations will remain on our website as additional guidance, and we will also have large maps at package pickup showing the routes.
We have created beautiful walk/run routes from 10 Aloha Start Locations across Red Deer! Click on a distance under the start location to view a map for that route.
If you prefer, you are also welcome to create a starting location and route in your own community or neighbourhood. If you'd like to be sure of the distance, there are many handy mapping tools online, including this one that we've been using. When you register, just select the "I will create my own" option from the start locations dropdown list.
Since we are no longer hosting at any start location, anyone who registers from May 5th onward will select "Create Your Own Route" during registration, and then determine for themselves where & when they would like to complete their race.
Please email us at email@example.com if you have any questions!
$10 per person, open to all ages & genders (plus GST and online fees)
Includes an Aloha Fun Run race bib, potted plant from Blue Grass Garden Center, race swag, entry for amazing draw prizes AND a keepsake Aloha Fun Run medal (limited to the first 1300 people registered)! Please note that as of May 4th, we have passed 1300 participants, so we can no longer guarantee you will receive a medal. You may be offered an alternate gift instead.
Please see the note below about the Weber Physiotherapy Kaiāulu Fund if this race fee is an obstacle for you or your family.

Please click HERE to complete a very brief request form, and we will be happy to send you one or more promo codes for complimentary race tickets. Open to families as well as individuals. Thanks to everyone who ordered a Fun Run ALOHA T-shirt!
The deadline for ordering has now passed. If you're still interested in purchasing a T-shirt, please check out our selection of T-shirts from past years' events at Package pickup. We have a large selection of sizes, all available for only $5 each!
Purchase a Women's Fun Run Cinch Bag
When you register, you will be given the option to purchase a Women's Fun Run cinch bag! You can also purchase these bags, as well as past years' T-shirts, at package pickup for only $5!
To purchase now: go to the registration link, and when you click on the green TICKETS button, you'll a pop up list of the purchase options. The Aloha Fun Run Ticket will be at the top, followed by donations. Continue scrolling down and you'll find the cinch bags at the bottom. Select the number of bags you want to purchase. Colour options will appear during checkout.
Add a donation to the Mustard Seed School Lunch Program
This is optional, of course, but we hope you will help support the amazing work of this organization! In 2020, even through all of the school closures, volunteers made and gave out over 46,000 lunches to school children in need. Please see the "Our Charity" page for more information, and add a donation during registration if you choose. Just $2 makes a child a lunch and $10 feeds a child for a week... $40 feeds a child for a month!
Go to package pickup on May 7, 2021
Package Pickup will be moving into the HEARTLAND ROOM at the Westerner on May 7th. We will be showing our ALOHA spirit with a lot of fun at package pickup, can't wait to see you there! There will be goodies for every registered participant, so don't miss out! Volunteers will be onsite to direct you.
In order to keep package pickup as quick and safe as possible, we ask that you come at the following times based on the first letter of your last name:
11am - 12pm: Last names beginning with A, B
12pm - 1pm: Last names beginning with C, D, E, F
1pm - 2pm: Last names beginning with G, H, I
2pm - 3pm: Last names beginning with J, K, L
3pm - 4pm: Last names beginning with M, N
4pm - 5pm: Last names beginning with O, P, Q, R
5pm - 6pm: Last names beginning with S, T
6pm - 7pm: Last names beginning with U, V, W, X, Y, Z
Picking up for more than one last name? Just choose whichever time is more convenient and you can pick up all your packages at one time. Can't come at your designated time? That's fine, you're welcome to choose any other time. BUT if you can, please come at your time, it would really be a big help!
Package pickup will of course follow AHS protocols, with limited numbers allowed and appropriate spacing. Masks will be required. If you prefer not to come inside, there will be volunteers available in the parking lot who will gladly go inside and pick up your race bags for you. In that case, to assist our volunteers we ask that you come prepared with a written list of the people for whom you are picking up packages (please include their names, ages, genders and whether you are also picking up t-shirts, prizes, etc.)
Come share some Aloha with us on May 8, 2021 (or whenever you choose)
Get on your best Hawaiian gear and let's spread the Aloha all over Red Deer!
